Grade 1/2 Sleepover

The Grade 1/2 students recently had a sleepover at school to experience what a school camp would be like.  For many of the students this was the first time they had slept away from home!  Students learned all sorts of new skills, from setting up sleeping bags and lilos to being independent and responsible in areas such as food and clothing.  Highlights of the sleepover included a chocolate scavenger hunt, a barbecue dinner, building giant block towers and watching a movie in their sleeping bags.  The students had a lot of fun, and can't wait to go away on a real camp in Grade 3 next year! The fun experience of a sleepover made a significant difference in helping the students to build independence, resilience and friendships.
