Excursions, Camps and Co-curricular

As part of its core mission, Sunshine Christian School seeks to develop the potential of each individual; spiritually, academically, physically, creatively and personally. As such, students are regularly involved in many co-curricular and extra-programs designed to support student development. In 2015 students participated in the following programs:

  • Daily devotion and prayer in addition to weekly whole school worship
  • Overnight activities: Year 1/2 sleepover, Year 3/4 two day adventure camp to Weekaway and Year 5/6 two day camp to Sovereign Hill, Ballarat
  • Physical activity programs including swimming and sports days
  • School musical 'Annie'
  • Fire education 
  • Gardening 
  • Book Week
  • Values education
  • School Sport Victoria Girls' Soccer Day
  • Multicultural Day
  • Student leadership council
  • ICAS tests in Science, Spelling, Maths, Writing and English
  • Interschool Athletics
  • Excursion to Yarrabee Yesterday's World
  • Grade 4/5/6 Peer Mediator training
  • The Kidz Bodz Healthy Eating Challenge
  • A school-wide buddy reading program 
  • The Music program (Choir, recorder group and other activities)
  • Student leadership training
  • The Resiliency Program for students in years 3-6
