Monopoly Dreams and Hello Kitty Cafe 2025
23-Oct-2025
As part of their social and life skills development, students participated in a city-based excursion designed to build confidence in budgeting, navigation, and social interaction.
The day began with a walk to Albion Station, where students caught a train to Melbourne Central. Upon arrival, they visited the Hello Kitty Café, where each student ordered and paid for food items within a self-managed budget, practicing real world money handling and decision making.
Next, they navigated their way to Monopoly Dreams, an interactive venue where they explored engaging exhibits and activities that encouraged teamwork and problem solving.
Prior to the excursion, students worked with their teacher to plan their travel route, select food options, and calculate the total cost of the day. These plans were reviewed and approved by both the teacher and principal in advance.
The group returned to school by train and on foot, having gained valuable hands-on experience in independence and everyday life skills.
