Multicultural Day 2019

17-Jan-2019

Sunshine Christian School celebrated its annual Multicultural Day on March 25th, which tied into the nationally-celebrated Harmony Week. All students and staff were encouraged to come in the traditional costume of their country of origin, or bring an item significant to their country or culture to show their class. Participants were also free to 'borrow' another culture if they chose. To make the day a special celebration of how each culture brings different ideas and gifts to our country, the Student Representative Council researched games from their own cultures and organised them at recess and lunch for the other students to play and experience. They also organised a school-wide Flag Scavenger Hunt. All of these activities were very popular, and it was wonderful to see all of the students in different cultural outfits playing games from different cultures. We also held a special time worship assembly to celebrate how beautiful and unique God has made each of us, and how we all come together to be a part of His family and our community.
