We are very excited about a number of changes to staffing at SCS which were made during the holidays.
We are very pleased that Mrs. Weerasinghe has accepted the role of Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader and Special Education teacher at our school. Mrs. Weerasinghe will continue in her role as Prep/1 Teacher and Christian Studies teacher on Mondays and Tuesdays, while assuming her new wellbeing role from Wednesday to Friday. We look forward to the continued blessings she will bring to the school in her new role.
We also welcome Ms. Sadie Grant Butler to the teaching staff as she teaches Science to the Year 3/4 and 5/6 classes on Thursdays. We welcome Ms. Grant Butler to our community and wish her all the best as she settles into her new environment. We also look forward to the exciting and engaging learning she brings to the older students.
ANZAC DAY
ANZAC Day, observed recently on April 25th, is a significant day for Australians and New Zealanders. It commemorates the bravery and sacrifice of soldiers who served in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations. Today, ANZAC Day serves as a reminder of the importance of unity, resilience, and the enduring spirit of our communities. Our students spent time reflecting and responding to this special day, focusing on the values of courage, community, and perseverance that the ANZACs embodied.
